THE DESIGN RESPONSE.

Organized around a courtyard as defined by the new house, the existing house (as new office) and the existing historic barn structure at the rear.
Modern farmhouse style with lots of big windows.
“Z” shaped floor plan – main residence at the front leg, an interior connector comprised of a 3-car garage and a wide corridor = fitness center for the family, and an apartment along the back leg for mom/dad = a multi-generational dwelling.
The overall floor plan created natural privacy for each of the living units because of the 3 legs.
Several covered outdoor areas on front and rear sides.
Entry vehicular courtyard organizes the entire property.
Back yard courtyard = allows the 2 families to easily gather.
